The Spirit of Giving

‘Tis better to give than to receive.

Philanthropic efforts are a year-round practice at Brookline, but never more so than during the holiday season. Over the past few months, staff has walked to end Alzheimer’s, collected trash as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway initiative, and painted a local library during the Centre County United Way Day of Caring.
More recently, residents from all of our communities have been crafting tree ornaments for the upcoming Centre County United Way Festival of Trees. Others have been busy working with staff to collect items for our local food pantries; stuffing fundraising envelopes for the Centre County Women’s Resource Center; and helping to wrap toys for the local Marine    Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.
